Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

Depending on how you use Styleconnect, we collect:

• Account details — name, email address, phone number, date of birth, and password (stored hashed).
• Waitlist sign-ups — name, email, phone number, city, and whether you joined as a shopper or designer.
• Delivery and store addresses — including map coordinates when you pick an address from our address search.
• Order information — items purchased, sizes, colours, measurements you provide for bespoke pieces, and delivery details.
• Designer verification data — business details, bank account details, and identity information such as BVN/NIN and a selfie, used solely to verify designers and enable payouts.
• Messages you exchange with designers or customers through our in-app chat.
• Technical data — device and usage information needed to keep the service running and secure.

2. How we use your information

We use your data to:

• create and manage your account and (for designers) your store;
• process orders, payments, and payouts;
• arrange deliveries with our logistics partners;
• verify designer identities and prevent fraud;
• power in-app messaging between buyers and designers;
• send service notifications about your orders and account, according to your notification preferences;
• improve the platform and comply with legal obligations.

3. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share only what is needed with service providers who help us run Styleconnect:

• Paystack — to process payments securely (we never see or store full card details).
• Delivery partners — your name, phone number, and delivery address, so orders can reach you.
• Identity verification providers — designer verification details, to confirm identity for payouts.
• Google — address text you type into our address search, to provide suggestions and map previews.
• Cloud hosting and storage providers that keep the platform and its images running.
• Designers you buy from see the information needed to fulfil your order: your name, delivery address, phone number, and any measurements you provide.

4. Cookies & local storage

We use browser local storage to keep you signed in and remember basic preferences. We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies.

5. How long we keep your data

We keep your data for as long as your account is active and as needed for legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution purposes. Order and payment records are retained to meet financial-record requirements. If you delete your account, we remove or anonymise your personal data except where retention is legally required.

6. Your rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA), you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data; object to certain processing; and withdraw consent where processing is based on it. You can delete your account from your profile page, or contact us for any other request.

7. Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit, access controls, and secure payment processing through PCI-DSS-compliant providers. Sensitive verification data (like BVN/NIN) is used only for verification and never displayed back publicly. No system is 100% secure, so keep your password and transaction PIN confidential.

8. Children

Styleconnect is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect their data; if you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

9. Changes & contact

We may update this policy as the platform evolves; material changes will be announced in-app or by email.
