Terms of Service

1. Who we are

Styleconnect is an online marketplace that connects customers with independent fashion designers in Nigeria. Customers can browse, order ready-made pieces, or commission bespoke designs; designers can list their work, manage orders, and receive payouts. Styleconnect provides the platform — the designs themselves are created and sold by independent designers.

2. Your account

You need an account to buy or sell on Styleconnect. You must provide accurate information when registering, keep your login details confidential, and be at least 18 years old (or have a guardian's consent). You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.

Designers may be required to complete identity verification (including BVN/NIN checks) before receiving payouts. We may suspend or close accounts that provide false information or breach these terms.

3. Orders & payments

Payments are processed securely by our payment partner, Paystack. Styleconnect does not store your card details.

When you place an order, your payment is held while the designer prepares and delivers it. Payments are protected until the store fulfils the order — this helps keep both sides safe. Prices are shown in Nigerian Naira (₦) unless stated otherwise.

4. Bespoke orders & measurements

Bespoke items are made to your specifications, including measurements you provide. Please double-check measurements before ordering — bespoke items generally cannot be resold and may not be eligible for return unless faulty or materially different from what was agreed.

5. Delivery

Deliveries are fulfilled through third-party logistics partners. Estimated timelines are shown on each listing and at checkout; they are estimates, not guarantees. Make sure your delivery address is accurate — costs arising from incorrect addresses may be passed on to you.

6. Cancellations, returns & disputes

Orders can be cancelled while they are still pending. Once a designer has confirmed and started work — especially on bespoke pieces — cancellation may no longer be possible.

If something arrives damaged, incorrect, or not as described, contact the designer through the in-app chat first. If you can't resolve it together, reach out to Styleconnect support and we'll help mediate.

7. Designer obligations

Designers must accurately describe their listings, honour quoted production timelines, and only list items they have the right to sell. Repeated failures to fulfil orders, counterfeit goods, or misleading listings may result in removal from the platform and withheld payouts pending investigation.

8. Wallets & payouts

Designers receive earnings into a Styleconnect wallet. Funds from an order may be held in escrow until the order is completed. Payouts are made to verified Nigerian bank accounts and are protected by a transaction PIN that you set. Keep your PIN confidential — we will never ask you for it.

9. Acceptable use

When using Styleconnect you agree not to:

• post false, misleading, or infringing content;
• harass or abuse other users through chat or reviews;
• attempt to move transactions off-platform to avoid payment protection;
• interfere with the platform's security or operation.

10. Liability

Styleconnect provides the marketplace "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the platform, from the acts of designers or customers, or from delivery partners. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Nigerian law.

11. Changes & contact

We may update these terms as the platform evolves; material changes will be announced in-app or by email. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
